Olathe teen is injured in accidental shooting
A 14-year-old boy in Olathe suffered a gunshot wound Wednesday in what police called an accidental shooting.
Police responded to the incident about 5 p.m. in the 600 block of East Welston Avenue. A male teen had been wounded in the upper arm by a bullet from a .22-caliber rifle fired by another teen, according to police.
Investigators believed the shooting was unintentional and the injury was not life-threatening.
The injured teen called to report his own injury, police said, and was taken to a hospital.
The investigation continued Wednesday.
