Kansas City man dies after speeding and crashing into tree on Independence road Tuesday
A Kansas City man died after losing control of his car Tuesday afternoon on an Independence road.
Officers responded at 12:46 p.m. to the area of Noland Road at Fair Street, according to Sgt. Jeff Buck, a spokesman for the Independence Police Department.
A Honda Civic was speeding northbound on Noland, when it lost control, left the road and struck a tree.
The driver, 27-year-old Jose Zamora-Fierro, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and died that evening.
The crash remains under investigation.
