Pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck, run over by SUV in Kansas City
A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Monday night in Kansas City.
Officers responded around 9:23 p.m. to the 2700 block of Belleview Avenue, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City Police Department.
The pedestrian was lying in the middle of an alleyway, when the driver of a black Chevrolet Equinox failed to see them. After the vehicle struck and ran over the pedestrian, they were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Chevrolet driver was not injured.
The pedestrian remains in critical condition, and the crash investigation is ongoing.
