Update: Independence police said Tuesday that Dakotah White was found safe.

Independence police were asking the public to help locate a 31-year-old man reported missing Monday.

Dakotah White was last seen around 2 p.m. while being dropped off at 37th Terrace and Jackson Drive, Independence police said in a statement on social media. He was reported missing by a caregiver who came by to check on him and did not find him in his apartment.

Police said White may be unable to find his way home. He was believed to be on foot.

White is described as a white man with dark hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a baseball cap and glasses, according to police.

Police were asking anyone with information regarding White’s whereabouts to contact Independence dispatch at 816-836-3600 or their local police agency.
