Motorcyclist dies after crash with wrong-way driver Tuesday night in Kansas City
A motorcyclist died following a crash late Tuesday in Kansas City, according to police.
Officers responded just before 10 p.m. to the crash in the area of Northwest Barry Road and North Marston Avenue, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department.
A black Lexus GS 300 exited a driveway and began traveling in the wrong direction in the westbound lanes of Barry, when a Honda CVR 600 RS motorcycle traveling westbound struck the vehicle head on.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexus driver was not injured.
Police said the incident was the 55th road fatality in Kansas City this year, compared with 54 at this time last year.
