Local governments around the metro — from the city of Kansas City to Johnson County — are hiring for a wide variety of remote and hybrid positions.
According to a study by Stanford University and the University of Chicago, nearly a third of workers have a hybrid arrangement with their job, and 12% are fully remote. Kansas City
IT Senior Analyst (Helpdesk Analyst)
This position is a full-time hybrid job that pays between $5,173 and $7,759 per month. The position is located within the city’s General Services Department. The average work week will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the application deadline is July 24.
Lee’s Summit
This full time hybrid position allows two remote days per week and pays between $61,495 and $92,245 per year. This position will be responsible for reviewing development plans, special use permits and other city planning projects and applications.
This is another opportunity that offers two remote days per week. The full-time project manager will serve as a point of contact for development customers. They will also coordinate project reviews and establish timetables for ongoing projects. The job pays between $61,495.00 - $92,245.00 per year.
Independence
This is a fully remote position with some opportunities for onsite visits as needed. The administrator is responsible for maintaining the city’s geographic information systems. This position starts at $50,910 but goes up to $81,950 depending on experience.
Johnson County
This full-time position is eligible for hybrid work. The analyst will lead security projects and improve security practices to protect the county’s information assets. This position pays up to $73.70 per hour or $153,296 for 40 hours a week.
This full-time position is also eligible for hybrid work. The person in this role will analyze business processes for the county and assist business customers working with the county. The position pays between $31.35 and $47.02 per hour for a 40-hour work week.
This full-time hybrid position will be responsible for managing the county’s Justice Information Management Systems. These are systems related to the courts, district attorney’s office, sheriff’s office and more. The position pays up to $73.70 per hour or $153,296 per year depending on experience.
