The Missouri State Highway Patrol canceled an Amber Alert that had been issued for two boys, 4 and 5-years-old, after they were found safe.

An alert was issued Saturday afternoon, saying they had been taken from a Morrisville home by 32-year-old suspect Thomas Eugene Wahlert.

Wahlert entered the home and made threatening statements to the mother of 4-year-old Thomas Wahlert and 5-year-old Leijah Wahlert before saying he was taking the boys to Iowa, according to the MSHP.

The suspect is the biological father of one of the victims but not the other.

Anyone with information about the case may contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Department at 417-777-3911.
