Are the Super Bowl champs Swifties? Chiefs share favorite songs before Eras Tour in KC
Taylor Swift’s two concerts at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium are just a little over a week away, and the excitement’s building throughout Kansas City.
Even the defending Super Bowl LVII champions are getting in on the fun. A few of the Chiefs’ players shared what their favorite Swift songs are in a TikTok on Tuesday, and their answers might surprise you.
Tight end Jody Fortson sang, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Quarterback Shane Buechele walked past the camera and said his wife knew all of the songs, but didn’t admit if he did as well.
Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi said “Shake It Off.”
Defensive backs Deon Bush and Isaiah Norman did have to shake it off when they mistakenly sang parts of songs that are not by Swift, like Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold,” and Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles.” And defensive end George Karlaftis mentioned “Diamonds,” which is a song by Rihanna.
Norman later referenced Romeo and Juliet, which could only mean “Love Story.” Linebacker Leo Chenal also said, “Love Story,” and dedicated his answer to someone special.
This year’s first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah turned 21 in January, but he said his favorite song is “22.” It’s also defensive back Anthony Witherstone’s pick.
The question follows a trend of other NFL teams sharing what their favorite Swift songs are on social media before she played in their stadiums. The Steelers, Vikings, Lions and Jets all participated in the trend.
You can tell some of the Chiefs definitely have their favorite era of the superstar’s music. You have to wonder just how many of them scored tickets to one of her concerts.
