After Chiefs get Super Bowl rings, Gracie Hunt takes glamour shots on luxury safari
After Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt doled out the flashiest Super Bowl rings in the team’s history earlier this month, he wrapped up the celebration by whisking his family off on a South African safari.
The women in the family — wife Tavia and daughters Gracie and Ava — have posted photos of the journey on their Instagram accounts over the last few days, chronicling their trip to Sabi Sands Game Reserve in Kruger National Park.
On Monday, Gracie posted a photo of her passport with the caption: “Grateful for such an incredible experience the last few days.”
One of her other photos, showing her in the back of a Land Cruiser with wildlife in the background, declared “real jungle > concrete jungle.”
But if the words “African safari” conjure images of venturing through the African savanna and coming face-to-face with hungry lions, well you don’t know how the Hunt family rolls.
Instead, think gourmet meals, massages and popular social media influencer Gracie using a selfie stick to get the best shots.
On Sunday she tweeted about lions: “I’m not lyin… watching these cuties trot by us while sipping on coffee in the African bush was an amazing experience. The past 24 hours tracking these lions ranks in my top 10 most exhilarating life experiences.”
Sabi Sands is touted as the most prestigious game reserve in South Africa, where sightings of leopards and lions are nearly guaranteed and several lodges are rated five-star.
One of the most expensive, at $1,800 a night per person, features a viewing deck, two lounges, a wine cellar and a heated swimming pool. (The family did not reveal where they stayed.)
The family, mostly Gracie, shared photos of beautiful meals, the animals, picturesque sunrises, the gym where Gracie worked out, glamour poses — she is an influencer, after all — and the native dancers who tried to get Clark to dance with them but, um, no.
While they waited at the airport to head to South Africa, Gracie posted photos of her mother at the red carpet event at Union Station where the team and assorted employees received their rings. She also shared a photo of her mom and Tammy Reid, wife of head coach Andy Reid, wearing the massive rings they got, too.
