Worlds of Fun reschedules grand opening for the new Zambezi Zinger roller coaster

The zing is back at Worlds of Fun with the grand opening for the new Zambezi Zinger roller coaster rescheduled for Monday.

The park is now hosting the grand opening June 19 to welcome their new take on one of their most popular rides from when the park first opened, after pushing back their original grand opening date.

The new Zambezi Zinger promises to take guests on a two minute thrilling journey, through spiral lifts and low ground tracks on its new steel wood hybrid frame at 45 miles per hour.

The park said the new Zinger will provide a nostalgic nod to the past, but still excite a new generation with new features.

Guests will experience new scenery on the ride with an updated safari theme, all from a soaring new height, with the ride now standing at 74 feet, compared with the 54 feet original.

The ride was originally supposed to open in May, but the park pushed back the date for more safety testing.
