A motorcyclist was critically injured after “doing stunts” on a Kansas City street early Saturday morning, police say.

Just after 12:30 a.m., a driver was seen standing on a stolen black Honda motorcycle on its rear wheel while traveling west on E. 24th Street near Chelsea Avenue.

The driver then lost control and crashed onto the road, according to Donna Drake, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department.

The driver was not wearing a helmet and was transported to a nearby hospital with serious head injuries, Drake said.
