A person was found dead early Tuesday inside a vehicle that was on fire in Kansas City’s Northland, authorities said.

Just before 4 a.m., members of the Kansas City Fire Department arrived in the 900 block of NE 82nd Terrace to find a “fully involved vehicle fire,” said Jason Spreitzer, a KCFD spokesman.

Fire crews extinguished the flames within a couple minutes, Spreitzer said. A body was visible inside the vehicle after the fire was out.

The Kansas City Police Department is investigating, Spreitzer said.

No other information was immediately available.
