One person died and four others were injured when two vehicles collided Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Kansas, the police department said in a posting on Twitter.

Officers responded to the crash about 4:20 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of Steele Road, said Jovanna Cheatum, a public information officer for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Arriving officers found two vehicles had collided. One of the drivers, who was alone in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene, Cheatum said.

In the other vehicle, two adults and two children were injured in the crash. They were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Cheatum said.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
