Update: Police said Thursday night that the 12-year-old was found safe.

Kansas City police were asking the public for help Thursday to locate a 12-year-old boy missing from the city’s Loma Vista neighborhood.

The child, Isaiah Barnard, did not return home from Smith-Hale Middle School at 9010 Old Santa Fe Road in south Kansas City on Thursday, police said.

Barnard stands 5-foot-4 and weighs about 120 pounds, according to police. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a logo of a bear and the word “Republic.” He also was wearing blue jeans.

Police were asking anyone who sees Barnard to call 911 immediately.
