Pedestrian dies after being struck by USPS truck on Kansas City, Kansas highway

A pedestrian died Monday morning after a United States Postal Service truck struck them on a Kansas City, Kansas highway.

The Kansas Highway Patrol was called just after 3:30 a.m. to a crash on Interstate 35 southbound just north of 7th Street.

Officials said the pedestrian was in the third of four lanes of traffic when a USPS semi-truck with a tractor trailer struck them.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

Officials are investigating the wreck.
