Kansas City man’s body found hanging from tree after being reported missing in December
A Kansas City man’s body was found hanging from a tree over the weekend in central Kansas, officials said.
Officials found 57-year-old Todd R. Smith’s body Saturday about 100 yards from the road near Dry Creek just south of Salina, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office said.
People who were out looking for wildlife found the body and contacted authorities.
Smith’s family in Salina had reported him missing on Dec. 7. They said they hadn’t seen or heard from him since Nov. 28.
The sheriff’s office is awaiting autopsy results to release further details about the case.
