Pedestrian struck by 3 vehicles on Independence roadway Sunday has died, police say
A pedestrian was killed Sunday evening after they were struck by three vehicles in Independence, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Independence police said in a news release Sunday evening.
The driver of a 2011 Toyota Camry was headed eastbound on US 40 Highway when they struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road at 36th Terrace, according to the release. The pedestrian was then struck by two more vehicles headed westbound on US 40 Highway.
The pedestrian victim was declared dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been made public.
The crash is under investigation by the Independence Police Department.
