Grandview police recover stolen property, make arrests in burglary investigation

Grandview police have arrested two men and two women and recovered stolen property in a burglary investigation.

Police responded to a house in the 12700 block of Seventh Street about 5:20 p.m. Monday on reports of a residential burglary. About two hours later, police responded to the same house to investigate another burglary.

While there, police took one woman into custody. Officers also went to another residence in the 12800 block of 10th Street, where another burglary suspect was believed to be staying.

Upon arrival, police spoke to a 3-year-old girl through the door who said her father told her not to answer the door. When police asked her to get her father, the girl left and didn’t return.

While at the house, officers found some of the stolen property on a trailer.

Believing that the burglary suspect was still in the house with the child and not coming out willingly, police called in a tactical team and negotiators Monday evening. Police also got a search warrant.

After failing to get a response from people inside, tactical officers entered the front door and removed two women and a child. No one was injured.

Believing that there were still two men in the basement of the house, police tried to negotiated their surrender. When police got no response, tactical officers used tear gas and entered the residence. They, however, did not find anyone else inside.

Police said they have since arrested two men.
