Body of Missouri teen found after vehicle crashes into creek
The body of a 16-year-old Marshall, Mo., boy has been recovered after the vehicle he was riding in crashed into a creek and was swept away.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the boy as Carl H. Girard.
He was one of five young people occupying a 1997 Ford Bronco that left the roadway and crashed into Salt Fork Creek Friday night in Saline County, Mo.
The other four occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before it was swept downstream, the patrol said.
Searchers found the submerged vehicle on Saturday afternoon and recovered Girard’s body.
