Traffic will be slow on I-70 in eastern Jackson County — all summer

Motorists traveling Interstate 70 in eastern Jackson County should get used to delays for the remainder of the summer.

Eastbound traffic was reduced to one lane Thursday over Sni-A-Bar Creek just east of Grain Valley, resulting in delays of 30 minutes or more, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday.

The restrictions are to accommodate a bridge rehabilitation project that will take two months, MoDOT said.
