UPDATE Nov. 18: Ticketmaster canceled the general sale scheduled for 10 a.m. local time Friday for all shows, including the two shows on July 7 and 8 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. In a now-deleted statement by Ticketmaster, the company said that 1.5 million people were invited to buy tickets during the pre-sale, but the website had over 14 million people try to buy tickets.

Ticketmaster’s website crashed due to the influx of fans attempting to secure tickets to one of Taylor Swift’s 52 shows for the North American section of her “Eras” tour, including two shows at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on July 7 and 8.

In a statement published online, Ticketmaster said there has been an “unprecedented demand with millions showing up to buy tickets for the TaylorSwiftTix presale.” If you are currently in a queue, Ticketmaster said to hang tight, as they’re working on getting people through.

The Capital One verified pre-sale was also delayed to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, local concert time. The presale was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, and rescheduling won’t impact ticket availability for cardholders.

Fans were not happy with the website crashing, sharing their frustration on Twitter. Others got tickets, but said that they endured a five-hour wait.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE ARROWHEAD PRESALES?

A representative from the Chiefs said the Ticketmaster issues won’t change anything for venue presales. The stadium is still planning to run its Jackson County presale as scheduled later this week.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jackson County residents can buy tickets using a credit card with a Jackson County billing ZIP code. If you don’t have that, the purchase won’t go through.

Chiefs season ticket holders will have exclusive access at 11 a.m. Thursday, and then the general sale starts at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Tickets must be purchased online, as there are no walk-up options available at Arrowhead. You can buy your tickets online here.
