Man kills self on Lenexa street

A man killed himself early Thursday morning while sitting in his car in the middle of a Lenexa street, police said.

Two Lenexa officers on patrol just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday spotted a car parked in the middle of Long Street just south of 87th Street Parkway.

When the officers stopped their patrol car behind the vehicle, they heard a gunshot. They found the man in the car dead from a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.
