A Kansas City, Kansas, crash is under investigation after a person was found dead inside a vehicle that was ablaze late Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene of the single-car crash at about 11:59 p.m. Wednesday in the 6700 block of Donahoo Road, according to a news release from Officer Marshee London, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

At the scene, officers found a vehicle that was on fire down the embankment, London said. They found one person dead in the vehicle.

Neither the identity of the person nor the type of vehicle they were in has been released publicly.

The crash remained under investigation Thursday afternoon. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the anonymous Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).

No further information was immediately available.
