What do I do with my bulky items if I can’t make the event?
If you are not free on Saturday to bring your items to the event, you can also set up an appointment for a bulky item pick up. The city’s bulky pick up program also accepts large appliances, TVs and other items that can be hard to get rid of.
Anyone who receives weekly trash and recycling services from Kansas City qualifies for bulky item pick up. Orders for pick up need to be placed 48 hours before you need the item picked up. Each household can request no more than 15 items be picked up at a time.
When placed out on the curb, items need to be within 10 feet of the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of pick up and should not be obstructing any parked cars. To schedule a pick up with the city, visit here.
Items that can be picked up for a scheduled pick up include:
Refrigerators
Freezers
Air Conditioners
Couches
Tables
Chairs
TVs
Beds
Mattresses
Storm Window
Glass Panes
Carpets
If you have questions about specific items or how items should be prepared for pick up call 311 or (816) 513-1313 or visit here. If you have any questions or concerns about Saturday’s event, call Robert Woods at 816-513-8442.
You can bring leaves and brush to this event, but leaf and brush collection week is coming up soon too during the week of Nov. 12.
