Kansas City police investigate after 2 people were found dead Sunday in Northland woods

Update: Police on Wednesday identified the victims as Misty Brockman, 40, and Kevin Moore, 42.

Police are investigating after two people were found dead Sunday in Kansas City’s Northland.

Officers responded to a medical call just before 2 p.m. in the area of Northeast 48th Street and Randolph Road, Officer Donna Drake, a spokeswoman with the KCPD, said in an email to media Sunday afternoon.

There, citizens north of the intersection flagged down police and took them to an area in the woods where there were two people suffering from “apparent trauma,” Drake said.

Both victims, neither of whom have been publicly identified, were declared dead at the scene.

Anyone with information on the deaths is asked to call KCPD detectives at 816-234-5043 or the anonymous Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

No other information was immediately available.

Editor’s note: An update from police clarified that two people had been found dead, rather than one person.
