Slavery joke in Park Hill was ‘friendly banter,’ punishment was too harsh: Lawsuit
Tom Hutsler, a Republican candidate for Missouri House District 12, is suing the Park Hill school district, which suspended his son for 180 days over a racist petition he and four other boys created in 2021 while aboard a school bus.
Hutsler and the other plaintiffs allege the school district went overboard in disciplining the students, violating their rights to due process and free speech.
