UPS is hiring 2,000 seasonal workers in Kansas City. What to know if you’re interested
Shipping giant UPS has plans to hire around 2,000 workers in the Kansas City area for temporary jobs this holiday season, the company reported on Thursday.
Many of these positions require no interview, instead using a simple online application to match applicants’ qualifications to open roles. The company is hiring drivers, package handlers and helpers at rates ranging from $16.80 to $30 per hour.
“Nearly 80% of those positions do not require an interview,” UPS spokesperson Kelly Davenport wrote in an email to The Star. “(The) digital-first process now takes just 25 minutes for most people… from online application to job offer.”
Here are the jobs that will be available:
Seasonal Package Car Driver positions pay $23 per hour.
Seasonal Tractor-Trailer Driver positions pay $30 per hour.
Seasonal Driver Helper positions pay $16.80 per hour.
Permanent Package Handler positions pay $19 to $21 per hour.
