Kansas City police locate 80-year-old woman who went missing Wednesday night
Update: Police said Rita J. Penn was found safe Thursday morning.
Kansas City police issued an endangered silver advisory for an 80-year-old woman who went missing Wednesday night.
Rita J. Penn was last seen preparing for bed around 9 p.m. Wednesday night at 4300 Northwest Terrace, police said. Around 3:45 a.m. Thursday morning, family members noticed Penn’s bedroom light was on, her window was open and she was gone.
Penn is endangered because she has dementia. She also does not have a cell phone.
Penn is 5’8” and weighs 170 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing all-red pajamas (shirt and pants), red shoes and a red knit hat.
Anyone who sees Penn or has information about her whereabouts should call 911 or the Kansas City Police Department at 816-234-5220.
