Saturday morning fire damages Overland Park single-story home but causes no injuries
A Saturday morning house fire in Overland Park caused no injuries but damaged a single-story home, the fire department said in a release.
Firefighters with the Overland Park Fire Department responded to the blaze just before 11 a.m. in the 9500 block of Foster Street, the release said. When they arrived they noticed that fire was visible from the one-story, single-family home.
The home’s occupants had evacuated safely.
The firefighters attacked the blaze in a family room and confirmed no one else was in the house. It took 15 minutes to bring the fire under control, the release said.
The blaze damaged the family room and the connecting living room, but it caused “significant” smoke damage to the entire home.
