A three-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 435 that injured three people was causing traffic delays for Kansas City commuters on Friday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a social media alert.

Roads were blocked on the interstate at Gregory Boulevard at 3 p.m. and traffic was being diverted along Gregory to avoid the crash scene, according to the patrol.

All three of the injured persons were in the same vehicle, the patrol said. Two were critically hurt.

Traffic was backed up at Gregory Boulevard as authorities worked to clear the roadway. An estimated completion time to clear traffic congestion there was around 3:41 p.m., according to Kansas City Scout, a real-time traffic tool.
