A maroon Chevrolet Traverse, which was traveling north on Kensington, struck the motorcycle in the intersection. The motorcyclist was ejected and landed on the hood of the SUV before being thrown to the ground, Drake said.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

The driver and passenger in the SUV refused medical treatment.
