Traffic delays expected as crews repair I-435 bridge near Three Trails Crossings in KC
Drivers should plan ahead for traffic delays along Interstate 435 — or maybe consider an alternate route — as crews work to repair a bridge Wednesday near the Three Trails Crossings in southern Kansas City, traffic officials warn.
Crews will close the two right lanes of westbound I-435 between Grandview Road and 104th Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday to make expansion joint repairs to the bridge over the Blue River, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Kansas City District.
In addition, the ramps to westbound I-435 from southbound U.S. 71 and from Bannister Road will be closed.
Drivers are urged to use Interstate 49 or Interstate 470 as a detour back to westbound I-435.
This work is expected to cause traffic delays in or near the Three Trails Crossings, formerly known as the Grandview Triangle.
Drivers should expect delays on westbound I-435 as well as on the ramps to westbound I-435 from northbound I-49 and from westbound I-470.
Drivers planning to drive through the area Wednesday are urged to check Kansas City Scout traffic cameras or WAZE for real time traffic conditions.
Transportation officials urge drivers to slow down and pay attention as they pass through work zones.
