Thirteen-year-old girl dies in collision with pickup truck Friday in De Soto
A 13-year-old girl died after colliding with a pickup truck pulling a trailer Friday in De Soto, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Authorities responded to the crash around 6 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Wea Street, where police said the 13-year-old was riding her bike south on Wea Street and was unable to stop at the stop sign at Lexington Ave.
Sgt. Jesse Valdez with the sheriff’s office said the collision was an accident and no foul play is suspected. The driver was cooperating with the investigation.
