Watch: Lawrence residents spring into action to save drowning 4-year-old at pool

A 4-year-old boy was saved from drowning in a Lawrence apartment complex pool after two residents stepped in to help.

Video from May 18 shows a toddler falling into the pool and struggling to swim. A 12-year-old apartment complex resident noticed the child was in danger and told his father, who jumped over the locked fence to help.

The man administered life-saving aid after pulling the unresponsive toddler from the pool, the Lawrence Police Department said in a news release.

The child was alert and breathing when emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after, according to police officials.

The boy made a full recovery and the two residents who saved him received certificates from Lawrence authorities recognizing their actions.
