75-year-old pedestrian hit by vehicle in Overland Park is hospitalized
A 75-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in Overland Park is recovering in the hospital, police said.
Members of the Overland Park Police Department were called overnight Wednesday to a crash involving a pedestrian in the area of West 87th and Farley streets.
They found the pedestrian, who had been struck by the driver of a vehicle that was headed westbound, said Officer John Lacy, a spokesman with the department.
The pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries, he said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Lacy said while the crash is still under investigation, it’s been determined that alcohol was not involved.
