Motorcyclist dies in Independence crash
A 22-year-old Independence man was killed Tuesday night after he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown into the front of another vehicle.
The incident happened about 7:40 p.m. on Powell Road north of Truman Road.
Police said the motorcyclist was northbound when he lost control and was thrown from the bike.
A southbound vehicle swerved and stopped but the cyclist struck the front of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The occupants of the vehicle were not injured.
