You’re in luck, KC: Midtown’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is back after a two-year hiatus
The St. Patrick’s Day festivities are back on.
After a two-year hiatus, Kansas City will be “Doing an Irish Dance” along the St. Patrick’s Day parade route. Starting at the intersection of 33rd and Linwood Boulevard and Broadway Boulevard, Grand Marshal Pete McCluskey will lead the way as the streets turn green all the way to Westport.
If you’re interested in joining the parade, you can apply here. You can view the application here, but you’ll need the following information:
Your contact information
Your group’s category, such as a drill team or a school
A small description of your group
Proof of insurance
You’ll need to attach the application by PDF or mail it to 7539 Baltimore by March 1.
If you’d like to be a vendor on the parade route, you have until March 10 to submit the application, which you can find here. You’ll need to include whether it’s food or merchandise you’ll be selling and whether it’s in a tent, truck, or cart.
The parade will start at 11 a.m. on March 17.
The following roads will be closed for the route, which you can see here.
Westport Road, from Mill Street to Broadway
Pennsylvania Avenue, from 40th Terrace to 42nd Street
Broadway, from Linwood to 43rd Street—this is the main route for the parade
No parking will be allowed on these routes starting at 5 a.m. on parade day, so be sure to move your cars from the route unless you want to get a ticket or your car towed.
May the luck of the Irish run through you during the parade and beyond.
