Local utility giant Spire Energy recently increased its natural gas prices in the Kansas City area and elsewhere in Western Missouri.

We’ve heard from frustrated readers that bills are skyrocketing. Some have said they’ve been conscious about making their homes energy efficient and using less heat, but have still received significantly higher bills.

We want to look into it more, but we need your help. Can you tell us how much your gas utility bill has gone up? There’s a form at the bottom of this story you can fill out.

In a November letter to the Missouri Public Services Commission, which approves rate increases for utility companies, Spire predicted that customers would see an average bill increase of around 42% as a result of the gas rate increase. That’s around an extra $24.36 for the average customer.

Has your bill increased by more than 42% in recent months? The Star wants to know how this rate increase is impacting Kansas Citians, and whether Spire’s prediction was off.

Fill out the form below to help us learn more about how local utility bills are increasing.
