It’s a march of the penguins at the Kansas City Zoo. Here’s how to watch them waddle
The penguins had a parade at the Kansas City Zoo over the weekend, and they’ll be running free every Saturday and Sunday in February.
It’s time for the official Penguin March.
If you haven’t been before, picture penguins waddling laps around the Helzburg Penguin Plaza at the zoo. It can’t get much cuter than that.
The birds strut three times around, and it takes approximately 15 minutes for them to complete their workout around the course.
Visitors can expect to see King penguins on most marches, but Chinstrap, Gentoo, Humboldt and Macaroni penguins may also take a stroll depending on the weather.
The march starts at 11 a.m. each Saturday and Sunday in February, and it’s free to watch with zoo admission. You can’t touch the penguins, so be sure to give them some space as they walk around.
If you can’t make it, you can watch the penguins any time with this camera.
The Kansas City Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. It costs between $8.50 to $10 for Jackson and Clay County residents and $17 to $20 for everyone else. You can buy tickets here.
