Downtown highway ramp to reopen Tuesday
The ramp bridge from eastbound Interstate 70 to southbound Interstate 35 will reopen Tuesday, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The 1967 ramp was closed April 14 for emergency repairs. A deteriorated section was replaced, requiring 1,416 new bolts and 7,500 pounds of additional steel. The ramp bridge is normally used by 4,000 to 5,000 vehicles a day.
Inspectors next week will take a look at the Broadway Bridge. That will require closure of one of the southbound lanes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, July 6-7, and one of the northbound lanes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, July 8-9. Motorists should expect delays. The routine inspection is conducted every two years.
