Woman dies from injuries suffered in Friday afternoon single-vehicle crash
A woman died Friday night from injuries sustained in single-vehicle car crash earlier in the day, police said.
The crash occurred west of East Truman Road and Cleveland Avenue around noon Friday, Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City Police Department, said.
Police said a Chevrolet sedan was traveling west when the driver lost control and struck a concrete pier for a railroad overpass.
The car had three occupants — two men and a woman — and all were transported to area hospitals. The woman was initially reported to be in critical condition. The driver was reported to be in stable condition and the other man in the car was reported to be in serious condition.
The woman died from her injuries Friday night, making it the second fatal car crash in Kansas City this year.
