Teens invited to driving classes at Kansas Speedway
The Petty Safe Driving program is coming to the Kansas Speedway next week and organizers are looking for about 100 Kansas City area teens who want to become better drivers.
The program, presented by State Farm, is free but registration is required. To participate, teenage drivers must have a valid drivers licenses or learner’s permit as well as six month of driving experience.
Classes will be at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 19.
The three-hour program includes vehicle safety and operations, tailgating, the risk of driving while distracted, the effects of driving while impaired and driving strategies.
Parents are invited to watch.
