No trash pick up on Thanksgiving in Kansas City and most surrounding areas
Don’t leave your trash out on the curb Wednesday night if you live in Kansas City.
City Hall and other buildings will be closed on Thanksgiving, meaning the city’s trash pickup is pushed back a day. Surrounding areas, like Wyandotte County, Olathe and North Kansas City will also follow suit.
The trash is collected the following day. If your scheduled pickup day is Thursday, that means it’ll be picked up Friday and if your pickup day is Friday, it’ll be collected Saturday.
With more holidays on the horizon, you can check out upcoming days when trash service will be delayed here.
If your trash isn’t picked up or you have a question about trash collection or another city service, you can call 311.
