Kansas City youth football team advances to nationals. But they need help getting there
A Kansas City youth football team has qualified for a national championship. Now they need help getting their team to Florida for the big game.
The young athletes of KC Dynasty 10U are preparing to play in the 64th annual Pop Warner Super Bowl Tournament in Orlando, Florida, next month, according to a GoFundMe page started by their head coach, Brandon Dye.
Last week, the team qualified for this national championship, which is in conjunction with Florida Citrus Sports and Universal Orlando.
The team is fundraising for flights, food and accommodations for 25 boys and five coaches for the December game. Any additional money raised will help cover gear, including helmets and pads, for next year’s season.
“This is a very exciting and unique opportunity for the team to represent the Kansas City Metro community on a national stage,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Please help support our team to make this dream happen.”
As of Sunday morning, the team had raised $6,450 of their $30,000 goal.
