Tell us: What are you thankful for this year, Kansas City?
Even more than the chance to eat mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, some see Thanksgiving as an opportunity to reflect on reasons for gratitude from the past year. And this year more than last, it offers the opportunity for some of us to celebrate in the company of loved ones more safely.
Though it’s been another tough pandemic year for many people in our city, we know there are still reasons to be thankful.
Our team at The Star wants to gather stories of gratitude from our community to celebrate together that even while facing challenges, Kansas Citians are finding ways to care for each other and appreciate our city.
Is there a moment from this past year that makes you especially thankful to call Kansas City home?
What about a person or an organization in the city who has supported you or your family this year, or who has modeled resilience during the pandemic? Maybe a teacher, a neighbor or a friend who helped you get through the year? Or a restaurant, museum or place that gave you some much needed comfort and joy?
We’d love to hear about it.
You can fill out the form below, with anything from a simple phrase to a short story about what you’re thankful for in our city this year. Later this month, we’ll share out a collection of what we heard as part of a special Thanksgiving edition of The Star.
