One killed after head-on crash Monday evening in Kansas City, Kansas: police

A 25-year-old man was killed and another person was hospitalized Monday evening following a head-on crash involving two cars in Kansas City, Kansas, according to police.

Police were called to the crash around 6:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Kaw Drive, Nancy Chartrand, a department spokeswoman, said in a statement. It happened on Kaw Drive between an eastbound vehicle and a westbound vehicle, Chartrand said.

One driver died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with injuries described by police as non-life-threatening. Police did not immediately disclose their identities.

The Traffic Division of Kansas City, Kansas police is investigating the crash. Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
