Wondering what days your trash won’t be collected by Kansas City’s Solid Waste Services? Here’s the list for 2021.

For holidays that occur on a weekday, your trash and recycling will be picked up the next day, according to the city. The collection for the rest of the week will be one day delayed. Friday trash will be picked up on Saturdays. Winter weather can also suspend recycling and trash operations.

These are the days when trash won’t be picked up. Two changes remain in the year: Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Jan. 18
  • Presidents Day - Feb. 15
  • Memorial Day - May 31

  • Labor Day - Sept. 6
  • Veterans Day - Nov. 11
  • Thanksgiving Day - Nov. 25. Thursday collection will occur on Friday, Nov. 26, Friday’s trash pick up will happen on Saturday, Nov. 27.
