Air conditioning problems close Truman Library
The Truman Library in Independence has closed due to problems with the facility’s air conditioning system.
Library officials decided to close Monday night, said Amy Williams, Truman Library deputy director. Workers discovered a break in the water line that feeds the library’s air condioning units, she said.
Although it’s unclear how long the work will take, Williams was encouraged about the progress made Tuesday.
“We found the problem quickly and we are looking forward to repairing it,” she said.
Library staff members are monitoring all artifacts and archival documents, Williams added.
