Highway Patrol identifies teenager killed in Johnson County I-35 crash
The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the driver killed in a crash on Interstate 35 in Johnson County as Jonah Francis Wheeler, 18, of Gardner.
Wheeler died when he lost control of his vehicle about 5:15 p.m. Sunday on southbound I-35 near West 167th Street in Olathe.
Wheeler, who was driving a 1993 Honda Civic, lost control, causing the car to spin and enter the median. The car struck a pole in the median.
Wheeler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
