Lunar eclipse is early Wednesday morning in KC
Kansas Citians up before sunrise Wednesday morning can view a total lunar eclipse, weather permitting.
The eclipse — in which the moon darkens as it passes through the shadow of the Earth — will begin at 4:15 a.m. with the moon in the western sky. The moon will be totally eclipsed from 5:25 a.m. to 6:24 a.m. Sometimes the moon takes on a deep reddish or brownish hue during a total eclipse.
The partial eclipse phase ends at 7:34 a.m., by which time the sun will have risen.
